CLASS INTENT:
The Rising Titans class is built for developing drivers ready to compete at elevated performance levels in the 8.90 and 7.90 bracket categories. This division bridges the gap between entry-level competition and advanced junior racing.
With tighter performance windows and increased competition, Rising Titans emphasizes precision driving, strategic race execution, and composure under pressure. The class is structured to prepare young racers for higher levels of motorsports while maintaining strict safety standards and strong sportsmanship values.

CLASS ELIGIBILITY:
- Vehicle Type: Jr. Dragster vehicles only
- Power Type: Fuel-burning internal combustion engines only — electric-powered Jr. Dragsters are prohibited
- 8.90 Driver Age: 10–12 years old
- 7.90 Driver Age: 13–18 years old
- License: Valid NHRA Jr. Dragster competition license required
- Age Verification: Required at first Rising Titans event
NHRA SAFETY COMPLIANCE:
Rising Titans follows all current NHRA Jr. Dragster safety guidelines. All vehicles, drivers, and safety equipment must meet or exceed NHRA Jr. Dragster safety requirements in addition to the rules outlined by Nitro Dave’s Clash of the Titans.
Any safety-related item not specifically covered in the Rising Titans rule set will default to NHRA Jr. Dragster safety regulations, and NHRA rules shall take precedence in all safety matters.

- Handicap ET bracket racing
- Breakout enforced
- Tree: .500 Full Tree
- Deep staging: Permitted
- Dial-your-own ET within class limits
PERFORMANCE LIMITS & PENALTIES:
8.90
- Driver Age: 10–12 years old
- Class based on either dial-your-own ET or heads-up Pro start
- ET is restricted to 8.90 or slower; breakout rules apply
- Quicker than 8.70 = Warning
- Quicker than 8.70 a second time = Disqualified from the event
- Quicker than 8.50 = Instant disqualifying, no warning

- Driver Age: 13–18 years old
- Class based on either dial-your-own ET or heads-up Pro start
- ET is restricted to 7.90 or slower; breakout rules apply
- Quicker than 7.70 or 85 mph = Warning
- Quicker than 7.70 or 85 mph a second time = Disqualified from the event
- Quicker than 7.70 or 85 mph = Instant disqualifying, no warning
CLASS STICKER & NUMBERING:
- Class Sticker Placement: Rising Titans Class Sticker
- Displayed on both sides of the vehicle body (next to driver’s window) and clearly visible to tower personnel
- Race Number Placement: Example: 4875
- Numbers must be minimum 4 inches tall
- Displayed on both sides of the vehicle and clearly visible to tower personnel
ENGINE & POWER:
- Fuel-burning internal combustion engines only
- Electric-powered Jr. Dragsters are prohibited
- One (1) rear-mounted engine maximum
- Maximum 5 horsepower
- Single-cylinder, single-spark plug, flathead, four-cycle configuration
- Factory-sealed Briggs & Stratton 206 crate engine permitted
- PDRA/NHRA-accepted aftermarket flathead engines permitted
- No overhead valve or overhead cam engines
PROHIBITED:
- ❌ Electric propulsion
- ❌ Nitrous oxide
- ❌ Turbochargers
- ❌ Superchargers
- ❌ Fuel injection
- ❌ Propylene oxide or nitromethane
FUEL & FUEL SYSTEM:
- Gasoline, alcohol, or gasohol only
- No fuel additives, enhancers, or oxidizers (scents permitted)
- Naturally aspirated carburetor only
- Pressurized fuel systems prohibited
- Fuel tank must be behind driver, securely mounted, and vented downward
- One fuel tank maximum
IGNITION & ELECTRONICS:
- Magneto or approved battery ignition systems only
- No delay boxes, throttle stops, electronic driver aids, stutter boxes, or computers
- No real-time data transmission to driver or crew
DRIVETRAIN:
- Chain or belt drive only
- One dry centrifugal clutch maximum
- Axle clutches prohibited
- Chain guards and clutch guards mandatory
- Transmission gearboxes prohibited
BRAKES & STEERING:
- Two rear-wheel brakes mandatory
- Hydraulic or PDRA/NHRA-approved mechanical brakes
- Steel or steel-braided brake lines required
- Line locks are prohibited
- Rack-and-pinion steering required for quicker combinations
- All steering connections must use positive through-bolts
SUSPENSION & CHASSIS:
- Suspension permitted; maximum 2 inches upward travel
- Wheelie bars permitted (non-sensor use only)
- Wheelbase: 90"–150"; max 2" side-to-side variance
ROLL CAGE & FRAME:
- Must meet PDRA/NHRA Jr. Dragster chassis specifications
- Minimum 5-point roll cage
- SFI-approved roll cage padding required
- Chromoly required for quicker elapsed times per PDRA guidelines
- All welding must meet PDRA/NHRA standards
BALLAST:
- Maximum removable ballast: 25 lbs.
- Maximum total ballast: 100 lbs.
- Ballast must be securely bolted to frame
- No ballast in cockpit
- No ballast changes after engine start
TIRES & WHEELS:
- Rear tires minimum 18" diameter x 7.5" width
- Pneumatic tires only; no tire treatments permitted
- Aluminum or steel wheels only
- Front wheels minimum 5" diameter
BODY & AERODYNAMICS:
- Body constructed of aluminum, fiberglass, or carbon fiber
- Must be Jr. Dragster style
- No funny car, altered, or roadster bodies
- Wings permitted; no adjustment of aerodynamic devices during a run
DRIVER SAFETY EQUIPMENT:
- Full-face helmet (Snell SA or SFI approved)
- SFI 38.1 head and neck restraint mandatory
- Five-point safety harness (SFI 16.1 or 16.2)
- Arm restraints mandatory
- SFI 3.2A/1 jacket and pants; gloves/shoes/socks required
STAGING & ON-TRACK PROCEDURES:
- No push staging beyond pre-stage
- No tuning after pre-stage bulb
- Vehicle must stage under its own power
- Driver must remain fully belted and helmeted until off return road
CONDUCT & ENFORCEMENT:
- Unsafe operation may result in immediate disqualification
- Unsportsmanlike conduct subject to penalties or suspension
- Officials’ decisions are final
